Hey Eireann,

I'm a reader/crafter/whateverer in Minneapolis, and I just finished my studies at the U. So, I have a lot of free time right now. If you need help packing stuff and shipping, I'd be happy to help out.

Thanks and good luck!

eireann, i wish i'd seen this earlier, i'd have contributed to the auction.

my dad was one of the ten percent back in 1978, and back then that percent was like one percent. it's amamzing to see how much medicine has changed in these 30 years.

please email me for the next round--alyssa@alyssaettinger.com (i'm the artist who makes the knitted vases)

Eireann, I’m sure you’re busy coordinating everything for the auctions. But, I wanted to let you know that I posted about this over on my site (www.wisdomofthemoon.blogspot.com) and also created one complete list of all the donations. Each donation has both a link to the donor and a link to the eBay auctions you listed. If you want me to send you the html code that I did so you can just copy and paste it into one condensed post, I can do that easily. Just let me know. wendy(at)wisdomofthemoon(dot)com

Good Luck!

Dear Aireann,

I am so sorry to hear about what happened to your mother, but cheered by your report about how well she is doing. I've been through a similar situation -- my fiance (now husband) and I were struck by a hit-and-run car while crossing the street a couple of years ago and one of the many results from this was his suffering a traumatic brain injury, which he is still recovering from. He also had severe left neglect to his left arm. Some of what he has had to go through is very similar to post-stroke recovery. It really helped that he was in good physical shape and is relatively young (39 at the time). It is amazing what the human body can do toward healing itself.

Please know that your mother and your entire family is in our prayers. It was so important to have family and friends rally around, especially in the first 6 months after the accident. It may feel as if you're in a black hole right now, but there will be light very soon. If you ever need someone to just vent to, please feel free to get in touch.

Sorry for the bad spelling, I meant EIREANN, not Aireann.

what a wonderful thing you are doing for your mom! my step-brother is one of the unlucky people who didn't survive his brain aneurysm. he died at the young age of 23 with no warning back in 1999. it was a horrible loss to our family.

it's great how all the artists/crafters out here in internet-land can make such a wonderful difference for people. and it's great that you're bringing awareness to an affliction that few people know about!

good luck with your auction! i'm sending loads of good vibes to you and your mom!
