holy shit
Unbelievable to see this bridge hanging, cars in the water, paramedics and police and firefighters by the hundred, people watching, black smoke, lights and sirens, no electricity, crushed train cars, burning semi truck, school bus hanging on one end of the bridge, rescue boats from all over the 7-county metro area, a big green military paramedic helicopter.
Sorry to swear, but that's about all I'm thinking right now. Brian lives about 75 feet from the bridge and we were there. Crazy. He was there for the collapse, after hearing the sound and feeling the apartment shake. He helped carry up people on stretchers.
I was going to update the auction site and maybe put a couple more things in the shop but I think I'm just going to go to bed.

Oh, I can't believe it! It's so terrible and frightening.
I'm glad you are both safe.
Uhhhh....
Where is this....???. I was in SF in 89 when the quake was there. The bridge collapse brought me back to those days....Good nothing happened to you, but it still leaves you in some kind of alert state...doesnt it...
Holy shit's right. Mate.
holy shit indeed. glad you are safe.
xoxoxo
eireann, i thought about you when i saw this yesterday...glad you guys weren't on it. so so so sad for the people that lost their lives...and children who lost their trust during this. it really is tragic.
It's so strange to see all the details of the familiar like that, the way the geography of home can change in such a tragic way. Glad to hear you and Brian are OK; I had forgotten he is so close.
I'm still finding it hard to comprehend. A reminder that we humans are not the masters of this world. Im so glad you and Brian are safe.
so glad to know you are safe...
I'm so glad you two are ok. I can see my old apartment on the news, just half a block from that bridge. Everything feels so personal... my thoughts are with everyone back home today.
