By way of the Green Line bus
--
Certain qualities of light are present here; I have never experienced them before. Green is part of it--gardens, fields behind the main campus--and part of it is atmospheric, how the light is almost always filtered through something. And when it is purely sunny, it seems more intensely light than back home, maybe because it is usually cloudy, maybe because we are surrounded by ocean here (in a more immediate way).

good luck and have fun in england. i'm from there, england, that is, but don't live there now, and you talking about the greens and the light and foxes in carparks ...ah, sigh.... nice to be reminded of those special things! enjoy them, lots...have fun
Hi and welcome to England.I love the mellow automn light of this country too. I live in the east midlands too but back home, in south Europe, the light is more intense. I don't know how to describe it, but it is different.
I'm sure that you'll have a great time here!(P.S. Can I assume that you are talking about the Nottingham University campus? If so, it is absolutely beautiful at this time of year!)

I understand the light thing - the greeness, the moisture in the air, the way things look gorgeous even when the clouds are grey and laden..... looking at the sky at dusk as it passes through a multitude of colours as it slowly descends towards darkness - something not experienced in many places!
I am glad that you arrived safely in England and hope that you enjoy your time there! If you ever visit Scotland then let me know!
